Join us for an evening of songs inspired by world music and indigenous cultures. Tonight we are proud to present Canadian throat-singing superstar Tanya Tagaq in a solo performance of her own works. Prairie Voices Choir, directed by Kristel Peters, takes us on a spiritual journey with their ritualistic performance of works by Joshua Penman and Alberto Grau. The University of Manitoba Women’s Choir, under the direction of Elroy Friesen, brings you a special performance of music by Einojuhani Rautavaara. The Winnipeg Singers, directed by Yuri Klaz, presents works by acclaimed Canadian composers Andrew Balfour, Sid Robinovitch and Christos Hatzis. Finally, we are also thrilled to present two special performances of Vincent Ho’s solo piano works by pianist Megumi Masaki and the composer himself.
