To kick-off this year’s New Music Festival, we bring you a magical musical tour at the Winnipeg Art Gallery co-presented with Groundswell, XIE (Experimental Improv Ensemble), and the WAG. This evening features the unveiling of WALLBALLS, a newly invented electronic instrument designed by the University of Manitoba Computer Science and Music department, with a demonstration and performance by XIE. Travel through the galleries and hear new works by Jim Hiscott, Diana McKintosh and the premiere performance of William Pura’s Nemesis. Also featured are the Nunavut Sivuniksavut Performers who will present a special performance of traditional throat songs.
